New work now showing at the Blue House Gallery, Schull

Blue House Gallery Exhibition, 29 July – 10 August 2016

I am very pleased to be asked to show my paintings at the Blue House Gallery in Schull, West Cork, during July and August of 2016. This is a solo show upstairs, with painter Helen O’Keeffe in her own room, and Grainne Cuffe’s beautiful flower prints downstairs; the exhibition was opened by Ian Mcgonagal. Because the gallery is artist led, part of exhibiting there is taking a turn at invigilation which is a great opportunity to meet the public and get feedback, both for one’s own work and that of the other artists, whilst selling a piece is obviously a lovely bonus!

The Blue House Gallery, on Schull’s main street, was established in 2012, primarily to represent artists resident in West Cork, and in addition to introduce the work of national and international artists. Annually, between April and September, the Gallery presents solo and group exhibitions, themed shows and exhibitions highlighting different media. I am looking forward to exhibiting there again next year, this time with Wendy Dison and Donagh Carey, at the beginning of August 2017.  Watch this space or visit the Blue House Gallery website for more details.

The Blue House Gallery is situated in the middle of the village on Main Street and is open seven days a week between 11 am and 6 pm.  The exhibition continues until Wednesday 10th August

Annual Members Exhibition at West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen

The Annual Members Exhibition in the beautiful galleries at Uillinn, West Cork Arts Centre is always an opportunity to meet fellow artists and see a wide range of interesting and sometimes inspiring work.

In 2016 I'm showing just one piece; Mountain Earth was made on heavy paper using some beautiful soil I found on the mountain side behind our home in Coomhola, together with charcoal, white oil paint and pencil.
